To write Cursive or not?????????

Wow, so I just saw an article about cursive handwriting.  I was shocked to learn that many states do not teach cursive handwriting anymore??????  I’m confused why this has happened.  Cursive is important for many reasons….. fine motor skills, ease of writing, signature, reading historical documents, reading letters/cards etc from older generations….

I’m guessing because the new age of technology, people feel cursive handwriting isn’t important and printing is fine, but at the same time we have to stay grounded and keep our traditions and remember we are people first before we get on the computer.

I surely am thankful that my children learn cursive and hope that states reconsider and bring cursive back.
